Baking soda, Citric acid and white vinegar

At home after school I done an experiment with Baking soda, Citric Acid and White Vinegar. First I thought I could do Baking soda and citric acid but nothing happened but then I thought why couldn't I add white vinegar. When I poured the vinegar into the cup it started to fizz and it lasted a very long time it bubbled right to the top. First I added the baking soda and then I added the citric acid and I mixed it then I added the Vinegar and I stood back so I wouldn't get over my uniform. Warnings: Don't get the vinegar in your eyes other wise it will sting. I used about half a cup of white vinegar a teaspoon of baking soda and a teaspoon of citric acid.

Amelia Earhart

Earhart.jpg

Amelia Earhart was born in  July 24, 1897 and went missing in  July 2, 1937. She was born at Atchison, Kansas in America. Amelia Mary Earhart, daughter of Samuel "Edwin" Stanton Earhart (1867-1930) and Amy Otis Earhart (1869–1962) In home of her maternal grandfather Alfred Gideon Otis (1827–1912),
Amelia was the second child of the marriage. known for first solo women to fly over the Atlantic ocean.

Crash and Sink theory
Many researchers believe the Electra ran out of fuel and that Earhart and Noonan ditched at sea with 7,000 miles to go. Navigator and aeronautical engineer Elgen Long and his wife Marie K. Long devoted 35 years of exhaustive research to the "crash and sink" theory, which is the most widely accepted explanation for the disappearance

Radio signals

During Earhart and Noonan's approach to Howland Island the Itasca received strong and clear voice transmissions from Earhart identifying as KHAQQ but she apparently was unable to hear voice transmissions from the ship. Signals from the ship would also be used for direction finding, implying that the aircraft's direction finder was also not functional.

Bubble science

A few weeks ago we done some experiments with some of the senior teachers. This is the slide that we done with Mrs Ericsson. We done trying to blow bubbles inside another bubble. We had to create a slide about our question, equipment, method, results, prediction and conclusion. At the end this is Jordan holding a huge bubble and the photo was taken by Jorja

Game on

Let's go Coastal! Roared the crowed. Rain burst out of the dark black sky. Kick off is about to begin. 7 minutes into the first half. Sloppy wet mud splatters over the players shirts. Side step and score! Dave Walker scored the try. 7-0 to Coastal. The wind silently whistling as the ball is moving round pitch. Great Spotswood's penalty. They missed. Phew! It started pouring with rain as it had only been 10 minutes. Half time. suddenly the crowed went silent. The game had started. Spotswood  scored! At the end of the game Spotswood won 17-13. The referee was Cameron Stone and the game was played at Sanders park because they are using Yarrows Staduim for the Fifa world cup under 20's.

Science experiment

Yesterday we done an experiment with Mr Spice and it was elephants toothpaste. We used active yeast, food colouring, dishwashing liquid and a old bottle. One you had the peroxide, food colouring and dishwashing liquid in go outside and pour the active yeast in. Then tighten the lid so no gas escapes. Make sure you make a hole so the toothpaste paste can squirt out. It will last for about 30-40 seconds before it starts getting smaller and smaller. All of the senior school had to do an experiment with all senior teachers. We done it with: Miss Bunker, Mr Tai, Mrs Ericsson, Mr Spice and your own teacher. With our teacher Mr Webb we had a film canister and we put in the baking powder first, then you added in the White vinegar. You had to quickly shut the lid. What experiment did you enjoy?

Poem (green)

Green grass shooting out of the ground
Green is the colour all around
Plants , bush pine trees too
The taste of mint filling the air
The sound of feet walking on pines
Green makes me happy and excited especially light green
Green is one of the seven colours of the rainbow

Monarch butterfly

Yesterday before Georgie and i walked out to the bus we found a monarch butterfly. If you touch the butterfly's wing it won't be able to fly again. It might be the most common North American butterfly. The difference between the male and female is that the female is bigger and has darker colours. Here is a website with more information
